E4OD 4R100 Transmission
The 7.3 Powerstroke can still be found on the road, and on the ranches and farms all across the nation. The first electronically controlled diesel engine installed for light-truck usage, this engine is still highly sought after 14 years after it's demise; for it's legendary reliability particularly in light of the problems that plagued the 6.0 Powerstroke that replaced it. While 6.0 had it's fair share of emissions related issues and can be “fixed” to be made very reliable, some people simply want the proven 7.3 Powerstroke and not deal with the hassle.
Unfortunately like many other light-duty diesel trucks of that era, the automatic transmissions found in those trucks left a lot to be desired. Simply put the ½ ton trucks that those transmissions were intended to serve were no match for the torque of the ¾ & 1 ton trucks that the 7.3 Powerstroke powered. Combine the added weight of the rig, the power of the engine and the owners using those diesels for their intended purposes, towing; many of those 4R100 and E4OD transmissions lived short lives.
Fortunately Lake City Auto Care can build your 4 speed 7.3 Powerstroke transmission, whether it be the early E4OD or the later 4R100 to keep pace with your towing needs and the power of the 7.3 Powerstroke, in either stock or modified form.
